Lil Kim is known for her overt confidence; by no means is the notorious K. I. M a meek soul. In her song “This is who I am” Kim provides a rap that explains her personality in great detail. From her outspoken tendency to her outrageous trendsetting style, Lil Kim is obviously happy with the person she is today. Kim’s persona is expressed in the song, while she chants this is who I am, take it or leave it. Kim uses this song to address those who try to change her or those who say she has changed since she has made it, by telling those people that she has not change and you can not change her. Kim also uses this song to describe what she looks like and how she raps better than anyone since B.I.G. Kim also expresses how rap gave a positive outlet to be successful and rich, without rap she still would be on top just in a different illegal way. Kim expresses that her rap is what everyone is afraid to say, but she says it and she does not care, because that is just who she is.

Lil Kim's This is who i am is a very powerful and self confident description summed up in a song. The song represents her strong belief in feminism. Rap was her way out of her miserable life. Kim expresses he change since she became rich and famous. She represents success in the rap business and also a pioneer for female rappers. People try to reflect and change what she represents. She raps, "I am who I am, you just can't change me No matter what you do, you can't take the hood out me." Lil Kim will never change her ways for any one. Her song represents her strong character and her strong belief on her views.

Lil' Kim's "Suck my D-ck" is a role reversal, at one point saying "I treat y'all niggas like y'all treat us" (Lil' Kim 2000). She presents herself in a very masculine and aggressive way. Her masculine demeanor is then reinforced through the mock argument in the hook. Simultaneously, it also serves as a way to establish her skill and legitimacy as a rapper. "Cause y'all niggas ain't shit And if I was dude I'd tell y'all to suck my dick" (Lil' Kim 2000). However, the arrogance and aggressiveness that emanates from her can be deemed as necessary. Lil' Kim is a female rapper in a male dominated industry. Through her perspective it is essential to display the same amount of testosterone as the male rappers to be accepted. Her song argues that she is here to obtain wealth, power, and satiate her sexual appetite just like any of the men.

Lil Kim's "This is Who I Am" is a blunt and very honest explanation of who she is. She describes What she has, and what she has achevied, in her openeing verse she introduces herself as "world's famous." She also explains who she's not, and where she would be without rap. She considers herself to be a trendsetter, and isnt worrying about people trying to change her.

Lil Kim in her song "This Is Who I Am," is very outspoken about the person that she has become. She expresses that she is still very much hood and noone can change that. She raps about her life as a flashy rapper. From the money, clothes, and different hairstyles, Lil Kim makes it known that she is proud to be the woman that she is. In a way, it seems that being a rap artist saved her life. Without it, she says she probably would've been in prison selling dope. Rap music has made her into what she is today and she's not afraid to show it.

Lil Kim shatters the sense of male dominance in her "Suck My D**k". She tells a story portraying herself as a male and the male as the female. She goes into great detail elaborating on the fact of her only wanting sex from them. As from a male prospective, she'll do anything to get sexual pleasure and money; it may be from intoxication, a simple "i love you too", or "a burner in the mouth". Lil Kim's intense lyrics turn the tables on "niggas and bitches".

Lil Kim's "Suck My D***" is a provocative song about the power a woman. Women in the rap industry are scarce but Lil Kim is one of the few well established and powerful women in the industry. In this song she degrades men the same way men degrade women in their songs. Lil Kim raps about doing what ever she can to receive pleasure and money from a man even if it means lying, threatning, or tricking him. This song portrays men as the submissive gender. Lil Kim's lyrics enforce girl power and suggests that she can be as tough and raunchy as other rappers and rap about sex.

In "This Is Who I am" Lil Kim makes it clear that she is the Queen Bee of rap. Her role as top of rap is evidenced as she speaks of her connection to B.I.G., continuing his legacy in the rap industry. To her the money and recognition that comes with her rapping has made her everything who she is and given her the power that she has. This song is merely reminded everyone that part of why she is who she is because she is not afraid to say things as they are. As a result, fame and money have followed.

Lil' Kim's "Suck My D*ck" is her way of bringing "wreck" (as Gwendolyn Pough calls it in her essay "Women, Rap, Wreck") in that she break the stereotype of women being the submissive girlfriend to their "thug". She clearly states in the chorus, "Cause y'all niggas ain't shit/And if I was a dude/I'd tell y'all to suck my dick," which would be a man's way of saying that he's fed up. Kim takes that idea as the basis for the song. In the first verse, Kim talks about some of the expectations some men have of women ("One that get up in a nigga's ass quicker than an enema/Make a cat bleed then sprinkle it with vinegar/Make him call his wife and say he never coming home."), in that some men see their woman as completely at their will. In the second verse, Kim talks about getting a guy drunk and having her way with him, creating the role reversal, making the man the vulnerable person in the situation. In the third verse, Kim talks about tricking a man into giving her his money, only to find out he was not all that he claimed to be. "Suck My D*ck" is Lil' Kim's way of saying that she's not some average girl, she can get what she wants, just as easily as any man claims he can. Overall, the song comes off as aggressive, but due to the fact that songs like these are not common, it seems more as Kim's way of bringing "wreck". Lil' Kim is more celebrated and known for her obscenity, and this song proves no different.

Lil Kim's "Suck my D*ck" is Kim's sick way reclaiming power from the men. She implicates that females, especially her could do anything as well as her male counterparts, including rap. She even asks what guys would do if she acted like them when it came to sex. The song is nothing but Kim's attempt to show the guys she "one of them", she even has her reply ready to tell the people who don't agree "And if I was a dude I'd tell y'all to suck my d*ck."

In Lil’ Kim’s “Suck My D*ck”, Lil’ Kim states that her actions are just like a guy. Lil’ Kim wants everybody to know that she is not different from other rappers just because she is a female. Even though she is a female rapper among male rappers, it makes no difference because she acts just like them other rappers. She states, “What b*tch you know can thug it like this?” She claims to be a thug like the other rappers. She sounds very aggressive and manly. She claims she, “Even got some of these straight chicks rubbing their t*ts.” Getting chicks is what male rappers do, and Lil’ Kim claims that she does that. Lil’ Kim’s purpose is to let people know that she should not be treated any differently from other rappers.

The song by LiL Kim "This Is Who I am," is a depiction of her life's story. It describes how she had to take a break in order to find out who her real friends are. Once she focused herself she became the "Queen" of rap. For rap is waht makes her life worth living and if not for rap her life may had taken a turn for the worst. She is at the top of her game and at a point in her career where evreyone is following in her footsteps.

Lil Kim's Suck My D!ck expresses her feelings towards the negative stereotypes for being both a female and a rapper, the stereotype being that both don't mix. This song shows Lil Kim's aggressiveness, power, masculinity and even sexual needs which are stereotypically displayed by men. She even goes to symbolically say "Suck my D!ck" for her success in a male dominated industry despite of anatomical differences.

In "Suck My D---", Lil' Kim takes the role of a man. She expects the same respect as any man that raps. In order to recieve that respect, the tables must be turned. "I treat y'all niggas like y'all treat us." She refers to herself as "Queen Bitch". She knows how to assert her aggressive attitude to move up in the industry. Because of that, she is held up in high position; higher that most female rappers. With the attitude of a man, and the sassiness of a woman, Lil' Kim has gotten far. Even though the song depicts "partnerships" with men, her concern is not to be with them. "He asked me did I love him I said what came to mind like niggas be doing Yeah baby, I love you long time". Lil' Kim's concern is money and being on top of her game. "I'mma keep it real For the dough I might kill I'm try-na see my face on a hundred dollar bill".

Lil Kim's "Suck My D***" is a grotesque message in which she proclaims her supremacy as a female and as a rapper. Being a small female, respect as a rapper might be hard to come by. With an assertive tone, Lil Kim affirms her dominance by declaring herself equal to her male counterparts in terms of sexual endeavors. Lil Kim even boasts about how if she was a man, that she could perform certain sexual acts more proficiently. Lil Kim makes it known to her audience that she is not a typical helpless female. Her male oriented characteristics, aggressive attitude, and excessive use of the F and N word in the song are proof. Lil Kim revisits the efforts of the suffrage movement in a distasteful and vulgar manner.

It is highly evident that Lil' Kim is extremely comfortable with her sexuality. She displays this in her song, "Suck My D*ck" which she briefly boasts her sex skills and adds that in fact if she was a man she would be she would be just as they are. She reassures us though that men are not all that special. She is just interested in getting pleased and getting "Benji's."

In her song “This is who I am,” Lil Kim expresses how she has not changed and will not change. She mentions that the “hood” is still in her, meaning that money has not changed her views. Even though she is trying to stay unaffected, many people around her are trying to mold her into something else. She also comments about how she is a trendsetter and a sex symbol of the rap industry. Throughout her lyrics, she puts most of her values on money, cars, jewelry, and physical beauty. Those who search for a message or a meaning will search in vain for these lyrics contain nothing more than rants of how successful she has become.

Lil' Kim is well known for arrogant, queen of the world attitude. In her track, "Suck My Dick", she asserts herself as queen of the mountain. She talks about how she is mistreated my black men, and how she dominates others around her. She frequently talks about sexual actions that she would do frequently with other black men. In general, the song deals with her female dominance and rich, queen-like status.

For women to be successful in the hip hop industry is often unheard of, but there are a few expectations of women that are on the level of making a name for themselves in hip hop. One artist known in the hip hop industary is the "Queen Bee," herself "Lil Kim." Lil Kim is known for her self confidence and vulgar words, she portrays herself like any guy would in his hip hop song, she makes sure that she steps it up to there level and makes it her. In her song, "This is who I am," Lil Kim expresses her feeling of being a women in the hip hop industry, how she has made it to the top, and how she can not be changed. She talks about how her life would be without rap, how she wold stay in top if not by rhyming then by the streets selling illegal usage. She may be vulgar, but her rap music expresses the type she was and still is up to this day. That is why her song is called, "This is who I am."
